NOTE: John Kuhry, of the EDFC (Economic Development & Financial Corp.), will speak at 10:30 about investing in Matt Gilbert’s proposed wool mill in Ukiah. This is an opportunity to learn about investing in a worthy local project which will yield competitive interest rates, while fostering economic localization and the revitalization of Mendocino County’s fiber industry.
Carolyn Zeitler graduated from San Jose State in 1976 with a degree in weaving and ceramics. Three years later she began what has become a lifelong pursuit of basket-making. For over 30 years she has been working exclusively with pine needles using traditional techniques of basketry to explore the outer limits of her material. Her work is in collections from Paraguay to Japan.
